Leading Canadian discount retailer uses Mercatus mobile app to serve up enhanced digital retail presence to engage mobile shoppers

TORONTO – Sept. 12, 2019—Mercatus, a leading provider in digital commerce solutions for grocery and other retail verticals, today announced that it has partnered with Giant Tiger Stores Limited (“Giant Tiger”), the leading Canadian discount retailer, to power the retailer’s new mobile app. The experience is tailored to both loyalty program members and everyday shoppers to gain maximum value out of their shopping journey. Mercatus will support and maintain the application and act as Giant Tiger’s mobile solution provider.
By 2021, mobile eCommerce sales are expected to account for 34 percent of total retail eCommerce sales in Canada, according to Canada Post’s 2019 eCommerce Benchmark Report. Giant Tiger recognizes shoppers’ habits are changing and that having an engaging mobile experience is critical in an omnichannel world.
