Brookshire Grocery Co. Expands Digital Commerce Capabilities
BGC embraces Mercatus platform as the digital commerce engine for CURBSIDE service across its store banner network

TORONTO – Feb. 27, 2019– Mercatus, a leading provider in digital commerce solutions for grocery and other retail verticals, announced that, effective today, Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC), a Texas-based food retailer, has rolled out online ordering with curbside pickup service to 100 stores in its Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods and FRESH by Brookshire’s banners.
After initially piloting curbside pickup in late 2017 at its iconic FRESH by Brookshire’s store in Tyler, Texas, the company expanded the service to dozens of Super 1 Foods stores this summer. Since Dec. 2018, the company has introduced curbside pickup at 60 Brookshire’s Food Stores, including launches at seven locations today.
As a pioneer in online commerce, Brookshire Grocery Co. selected Mercatus to enable a new level of digital convenience and value that appeals to today’s shoppers. BGC customers can now order, pay and schedule pick-up times at select stores using banner-specific websites and mobile apps. The stores’ personal shoppers fill customers’ orders by selecting the freshest products available and carefully following any special instructions. Personal shoppers then text or call customers with any questions about their selections and to notify them when their order is ready for pickup.
